Okay, two posts in one evening! No one fall of your computer chairs!!!!

Hopefully tomorrow evening I will have time to create a page, dedicated solely to “Lucky’s Legacy”, the new horse rescue that I have found and am trying to help out taking photos for them. It’s a heaven on earth sort of place and you can see the hard work they are doing is paying off. These horses are so lovable and full of life. They can make any day better just be spending five minutes with them. What kind, loving souls they are.

But, for now…you have my photo of the day…

Another shot of my wisteria. I can’t believe after eight years, not only did it bloom for the first time, but it is covered!!! I am so excited.

Here’s a shot of one lone bloom, low on the arbor, poking through the fencing….shouting to be seen.

My dear friend Kathie is my conscience when I falter. I knew I had to come here and post my daily pictures. Once I was behind a week it seemed like such a chore, then I was behind two and actually…I’m not sure how far behind I am now.

AN EVENING STROLL

Tonight I went with my friend Rick and his four legged pal, Zeke on a stroll through the woods around Plugs Pond in Haverhill. It was a beautiful spring evening. We both took our cameras on the stroll and wandered the paths through the woods up to an old foundation to a once grand mansion that burned down years ago. It was one of those “good for the soul” walks that the heart needs to take every so often. Just not human hearts but canine ones as well.

Zeke doesn’t make it up the hills like he use to and the rocks aren’t easy to manage on less traveled paths with his old paws. But, he enjoyed it just the same and even took the time to “reflect” while we gazed around and snapped photos.

WHICH PATH WILL THEY CHOOSE NEXT?

He is certainly an animated character who knows how to work the camera. He was a lot of fun to shoot and I’m so glad he came with us on our walk.

We learned when we moved here to Hampstead thirteen years ago that it was not safe for Agape to wander around outside unattended.

Reason #1

He’s as dumb as a rock! I love him dearly but he really is stupid and has no sense of direction. Once he’d wander off he could NOT find his way home. After many late night, wandering in the dark trying to find him before a fisher cat did and one close call with a neighbor who saw his bushy tail and thought he was a rabid racoon in his corn field and almost shot him……it was decided he would be an indoor cat.

Reason #2

He’s dumb as a rock!

It’s worked out fine. We go out together and walk around the yard. In his younger days he would run off every so often into the woods but anymore he’s just content to wander slowly (which is is quickest pace) and sit and soak up the sun.

Once he finds a patch of good grass…he’s settling in and not going anywhere for a while!

SPICY MARINADED SHRIMP

1 scallion finally chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice… See More
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
2 tablesppns ketchup
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 minced garlic clove
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 lbs medium shrimp, cooked and peeled

Combine all ingredients except shrimp in a large bowl. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 4-6 hours or over night. YUMMMMMMM

Bob got a call this morning that Jack (my stepfather) was sick and my brother Jeff was trying to get the roof re shingled all by himself. Bob went over to help and since I know how much he LOVES heights…I thought I’d stop by with the camera. While I got some great photos of the two of them working, for some reason this one was my favorite of the day!
